my creative process

i pick at the memories
scabs and scars
old wounds from old battles
i pick at them until they bleed
all over my pencils and paper
and computer keyboard
the blood pools
coagulating
into poems

  4. Thanks for the great comments! I almost deleted this after I wrote it - I mean, a poem about picking scabs? Gross! :)
Now I'm glad I kept it.

  7. I do this every day of my life. I find it difficult to write a "happy poem"

  8. 'coagulating
into poems' - like the way the verses pool into these last lines!
